You have reached the stage when you feel that speech therapy is doing very little to improve your fluency; you have had enough and are now looking for an alternative form of stuttering treatment. The question is what other options are open to people that have this type of speech impediment?

stutter-free-lifeThis was my life: At the age of eighteen, I had been attending speech and language therapy for the previous fourteen years, I also had had enough as progress had been little, if any. You may well feel that it was quite bizarre that I had taken this long to seek alternative help - you would be right! I guess that I was hoping that something would just eventually click - it didn't.

This was eighteen years ago, before the birth of the amazing internet that would revolutionize the world. I then started to search, a search to find a cure for this most annoying speech impediment. I visited the local library, unfortunately this proved to be a complete waste of time. I then looked in the yellow pages; I even went to see my local GP but again this proved to be a wasted journey - it was is if nobody had the answers or solutions that I was looking for.

Things have fortunately changed and with the birth of the internet it is far easier to locate relevant information about a variety of problems etc. Just by conducting a basic search on one of the major search engines, such as Google, for phrases such as stuttering therapy, stuttering course, stuttering advice, stuttering treatments and stuttering information will provide people with a massive amount of options and ideas.

These options include the ever popular one-to-one stammering therapy courses run by people who have overcome a stutter. These courses are extremely beneficial and are normally held over a two, three or five day period.
